The Mitchell Women: a journey to unknown stories
In association with the exhibition Dear Kate now showing at the East Coast Heritage Museum, the artist Jane Giblin will be running workshops to share what she has learned about The Sarah Mitchell Scrapbook.
In the workshop you will join Jane in investigating the images and stories emerging from the scrapbook and learn to work with ink, nib, and watercolour.
You will be assisted to write and illustrate your own stories and think about how we capture family histories, how we might draw them and the added value of writing about them.
Workshop fee: $46 (Please pay in cash on the day - correct money appreciated)
What to bring: A few family pictures, comfortable clothing, a bottle of water. All art materials are provided but bring some of your own if you prefer.
Art supplies will be provided.
Numbers are limited (15 at each event) so please let us know which workshop you want to attend by emailing Cecilia.broderick@freycinet.tas.gov.au
