CHILD CARE SERVICES

The Lady Gowrie Child Care Centre is centrally located in the Swansea township at 1 Arnol Street with the renowned Freycinet Hazards reflecting in the waters adjacent to the Centre. This purpose built Centre supports the care and education of children not only in the local area but welcomes children into care who may be visiting the area during holiday periods. The Centre employs qualified and experienced early childhood staff. The Centre is licensed under the Department of Education Child Care Unit Standards and is accredited under the National Child Care Accreditation Council Quality Improvement and Accreditation System.

The Centre offers full-time, regular part time care and casual care for children from birth to five years in the long day care program for 51 weeks of the year.  During school terms and vacation periods after school care and vacation care is provided for children six to twelve years of age.

The Centre is closed between Christmas and the New Year and on gazetted public holidays.

The centre is located at 36 Melbourne Street, Triabunna and has 20 child care places available for children 0 to 12 years of age.  The centre is under the umbrella of Northern Children’s Network,  a large and experienced not for profit child care service provider.  NCN currently runs 7 rural long day care centres, Family Day Care and In Home Care services state-wide, as well as providing After School Care and School Holiday Care.  NCN works closely with each individual community to provide care that caters to their needs.

The centre staff pride themselves on being professional and passionate about providing a fun and adventurous learning environment for children.  They have an extensive child care background and honour your child’s right to play and explore by maintaining safe and healthy places and spaces.

The child care centre is licensed by the Tasmanian Department of Education, Education and Care Unit and also participates in the ACECQA accreditation system.

The centre provides 5 different sessions to cater for the needs of the community. This includes a session for After School Care. Bookings can be made by contacting the centre during business hours or by email. Eligible families are able to access government fee reduction through the centre but must be registered with the Dept of Human Services (FAO ph 136150). This child care centre is located at 83 Burgess Street Bicheno, located on the grounds of the Bicheno Primary School. The Bicheno Child Care Committee in partnership with Northern Children’s Network and the Department of Education, are thrilled to see the many years of community hard work pay off with the official opening of the new centre on 1st June 2012.

The centre offers quality care for children from birth to 12 years enabling young families to keep their children together while in care.  Care is provided by friendly and motived staff, they pride themselves on being child care professionals whose main focus is the wellbeing of your child.  The staff’s enthusiasm has led them to achieving high child care qualifications to enable them to provide the best care possible.  Family and community members are welcome to visit the centre at any time.

The child care centre is licensed by the Tasmanian Department of Education, Education and Care Unit and also participates in the ACECQA accreditation system.

School Holiday Care programs are also provided by Little Penguins.  It is based at the Bicheno Memorial Hall.  The program provides a range of fun and educational activities and experiences throughout the year, for children aged from 5 to 12 years.
