Squid Festival – Triabunna

November 27, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until November 27, 2022

WHAT’S IT LOOK LIKE?

Events and activities spread across three days, catering to an ambitiously broad cross-section of the community. From professional marine biologists to asipring preschool chefs, there’ll be alot going on.
The core of the festival will be the Squid Day Out – a family-friendly daytime celebration in Triabunna town, featuring food stalls, live music, the Beaker Street Science Bar, talks and workshops on all things squid and the sea.

Other events, including an experimental cabaret night, a decadent wood-fired feast, a floating audio-visual installation and an afternoon kite-flying adventure will fill out the rest of the weekend. The festival also coincides with the Trouwana, lutruwita Ocean Summit presented by The Australia Institute at Spring Bay Mill.

WHERE IS IT HAPPENING?

The festival will be split between the exwoodchip wasteland turned sustainable events venue Spring Bay Mill and the ex-seafood cannery turned community creativity hub Spring Bay Museum & Discovery Centre. Both venues
are in trayapana / Triabunna, on Tasmania’s spectacular East Coast. Friday and Sunday events will be at The Mill, Saturday events will be held in and around trayapana / Triabunna town.
