New Playground Lions Park Bicheno

The week of the 17th August 2026 the old playground at Lions Park, Bicheno will be permanently removed from its current location.
Construction of the new playground in the new location (north of current location) in Lions Park will commence on 24th August 2026 and take approx. 6 to 8 weeks to complete.
During this period there will be no playground at Lion Park, an alternative playground is located on the corner of William St and Rose Street, Bicheno.
Duck Park Footbridge, Swansea – Project Update

The existing Duck Park Footbridge at the Esplanade, Swansea, will be removed during the last week of August 2026 to enable piling works for the new footbridge to commence.
Please note that there will be no pedestrian bridge access available until approximately mid-October 2026, subject to weather conditions. A signed detour route will be in place during this period.
Due to environmental constraints, piling works must be completed before the end of August. Fabrication and installation of the new bridge superstructure are expected to be completed by mid-October.
We appreciate the community's patience and understanding while these important works are undertaken to deliver a new and improved footbridge.
Bridge Replacement – 17 Acre Bridge on Wielangta Rd

17 Acre bridge on Wielangta Rd, Orford replacement will be starting on 21st Sept 2026 weather dependent. Whilst these works are being undertaken this section of Wielangta Rd will be closed to all traffic.17 Acre bridge is located approx. 6klm from the Charles Street/Wielangta Road intersection. For traffic wishing to travel past this location, Rheban Road will be the detour route.
Vicary Street Triabunna Upgrade – Next Stage

The next stage of the Vicary Street upgrade is about to commence, with works taking place around the intersection of Vicary Street and Charles Street.
During these works, detours will be in place to help keep workers and the community safe.
