Meet Our New CEO and Learn About Becoming a Councillor

Could you be the next voice for your community? 

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council is inviting community members to attend one of three Community Information Sessions to meet our new CEO, Nick McGuire, and learn more about becoming a Councillor ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections. 

Whether you’re considering standing for election, would like to better understand the role of a Councillor, or simply want to meet our new CEO, these free community sessions are a great opportunity to ask questions and find out more. 

What you’ll learn 

During the session you’ll hear about: 

  • The role and responsibilities of a Councillor. 
  • What it means to represent your community. 
  • The time commitment involved. 
  • The election process. 
  • The support available to elected members. 
  • Council’s role in shaping the future of Glamorgan Spring Bay. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet CEO Nick McGuire, hear about his vision for the municipality, and chat with him in an informal setting.

Bicheno

Venue: Bicheno Memorial Hall, 78 Burgess Street 

Swansea 

Date: Wednesday 19 August 
Time: 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm 
Venue: Swansea Town Hall, 12 Franklin Street
