Council Grants

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council provides grant programs to support local organisations, groups, individuals and events that provide benefits to the Glamorgan Spring Bay community.

Council offers a number of different grant and assistance programs. Each program has its own eligibility requirements and application process.

The Community Small Grants Program provides small grants to community organisations and groups to support programs, projects and activities within the Glamorgan Spring Bay municipal area.

The program supports projects that:

  • Address relevant community issues
  • Are initiated within the community and actively involve local people
  • Improve access to, and encourage wider use of, community facilities.

Grants are generally up to $1,000, although Council may consider a higher amount in certain circumstances.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year while funding remains available.

Who can apply?

Applications must generally be from not-for-profit organisations.

A resident of the Glamorgan Spring Bay municipal area who has been selected on merit to participate or compete in an event or project of state, national or international significance may also seek funding assistance.

What do I need to provide?

Applicants will need to provide:

  • A completed Community Small Grants Application Form
  • A description of the proposed project and intended outcomes
  • A project budget
  • Quotations or other evidence supporting the project costs
  • A plan or sketch of the proposed project, where applicable.

Successful applicants

Successful applicants must complete an acquittal following completion of their project.

This includes providing:

  • A brief written report outlining the success or otherwise of the project
  • A photograph, where applicable
  • A recent financial statement or evidence of expenditure.

The Glamorgan Spring Bay Council Event Support Grant provides financial and in-kind assistance to eligible community, sporting and non-profit organisations holding festivals and events within the Glamorgan Spring Bay municipality.

Funding available

Eligible organisations can apply for up to $2,000 in financial assistance.

Council may also provide in-kind assistance, which can include:

  • Wheelie-bin hire
  • Venue or site hire waivers
  • Permit fee waivers
  • Power
  • Barricades and related assistance
  • Other Council support where appropriate.

Who can apply?

The Event Support Grant is available to community groups, organisations and clubs that are legally incorporated or operating under the auspices of an incorporated body.

Applicants must hold appropriate public liability insurance for the event.

What events are supported?

Council will consider applications for festivals and events that provide a benefit to the Glamorgan Spring Bay community.

Priority will be given to events that:

  • Provide a significant benefit to local residents and businesses
  • Are unique within Glamorgan Spring Bay
  • Where profit is generated, return funds to the community.

Applying

Applicants should complete the Event Support Grant Application Form and provide the supporting information and documentation requested.

Council has limited funding available and applications are competitive. Funding may not be approved at the full amount requested.

Successful applicants are required to provide a final report and evidence of expenditure following the event.
